ASTM B163 Inconel 601 nickel alloy pickled annealed tubing is a high-performance tubing made from a nickel-chromium-iron alloy and aluminum, designed for high-temperature, corrosive environments. Key properties include excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance (up to 1200°C) due to a protective oxide scale, good high-temperature strength, and resistance to thermal cycling (no spalling). The "pickled annealed" condition indicates that it has been treated with acid to remove surface oxides (pickling), followed by heat treatment to relieve internal stresses and improve ductility.
