What is the difference between incoloy 800 and SS 316?
Both Incoloy 800 and SS316 are excellent alloys with their own applications and properties. Incoloy 800 is best suited for high temperature applications requiring excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization, while SS316 is well suited for applications requiring high corrosion resistance and good weldability.
Will SS316 rust?
While standard 316 stainless steel is not completely rustproof, it does offer multiple layers of protection over other grades of stainless steel. Different variations of 316 stainless steel have properties that are better suited for different applications, depending on their composition.
Is INCOLOY 800 better than 825?
Incoloy 800: Ideal for high-temperature industrial applications such as heat exchangers and furnace components. Incoloy 825: Preferred for chemical processing, pollution control, and environments where acid resistance is critical.
Which is better, SS304 or SS316?
316 stainless steel is more resistant to salt and other corrosion than 304 stainless steel. Therefore, if you manufacture products that are frequently exposed to chemicals or marine environments, 316 is a better choice.
