ASTM B163 UNS N04400, also known as Monel 400 pipe, is a nickel-copper alloy tube specifically formulated for seamless tubing used in heat exchangers and condensers in power plants. Its corrosion resistance, high strength, and wide temperature range make it suitable for demanding applications in the power generation industry.

What are the specifications for Monel 400 pipe?

This grade of nickel-copper alloy is available in ASTM B165 and B725 specifications. Pipe is available in seamless, welded, electric-resistance-welded, and fabricated forms. ASME SB165 Monel 400 seamless pipe conforms to ASTM, ASME, and API standards and is available in nominal inside diameters ranging from 15 inches to 150 inches.

Power Plant Applications
Monel 400 is widely used in power generation facilities, particularly nuclear and fossil fuel plants, for its excellent heat transfer and corrosion resistance.
