ASTM B514 Incoloy 800H nickel alloy pickled surface welded pipe

ASTM B514 Incoloy 800H nickel alloy pickled surface welded pipe
ASTM B514 Incoloy 800H pickled welded tubing is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature, high-strength applications. It is renowned for its excellent resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and carburization. The "Incoloy 800H" designation indicates that its composition has been optimized for creep and rupture strength at elevated temperatures. It is produced by welding flat sheets into tubing, which is then pickled to create a clean, scale-free surface.
What are the ASTM specifications for INCOLOY 800?
This nickel-iron-chromium alloy maintains its austenitic microstructure even when exposed to high temperatures. According to ASTM B407, these pipes are annealed at 1800°F for 15 minutes. After annealing, Alloy 800 seamless pipe is air-cooled.

Common Applications
Petrochemical: Used in heat exchangers, process piping, and reactors.
Chemical Processing: Used in applications involving corrosive materials, such as the production of polyester and epoxy resins.
Power Generation: Used in components such as superheater tubes and furnace parts.
Industrial Furnaces: Suitable for radiant tubes and other fixtures in industrial furnaces.
Nuclear: Used in certain applications within the nuclear industry.
Usage Precautions
Heat Treatment: A high-temperature annealing treatment of approximately 2100°F (1150°C) and controlled carbon content are essential to achieve its high-temperature strength properties.
Maintenance: Regular cleaning is required to prevent the accumulation of corrosive materials, and proper handling is required to avoid damage.
Environmental Limitations: Not recommended for use in sulfuric acid environments. Prolonged exposure to temperatures between 1000-1400°F (538-760°C) can cause chromium carbide precipitation.
