What is Inconel 600 equivalent material?
Inconel 600 (AMS 5540) is a nickel-chromium alloy designed for use at low temperatures and high temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C). The high nickel content of Alloy 600 provides good resistance to reducing environments and excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, while the chromium content provides resistance to weaker oxidizing conditions. It has high strength and oxidation resistance, and although it is not precipitation hardenable, cold working of Alloy 600 materials can harden them significantly. This material is commonly used in chemical processing, heat treatment industries, soap manufacturing, electrical, nuclear energy and aerospace.
