Incoloy 825 is also known as Inconel 825. It is an alloy composed of nickel, chromium and iron along with molybdenum, copper and titanium. Alloy 825 was invented to provide excellent resistance to many corrosive environments as well as reducing environments containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids. The nickel content in the alloy is acceptable for resistance to chloride ions and stress corrosion cracking. Alloy 825 has excellent resistance to oxidation and non-oxidizing hot acid properties. The titanium content in the alloy provides resistance to intergranular attack during manufacturing and following pitting corrosion. Alloy 825 has good weldability by all conventional mechanisms.
