Different Types of Inconel 600 Alloy Flanges and Their Applications
Inconel 600 flanges, made from a nickel-chromium alloy, are available in a variety of styles, including butt-weld flanges for high-pressure applications, blind flanges for sealing, slip-on flanges for low-pressure applications, lap joint flanges for easy assembly, threaded flanges for non-welded connections, socket-weld flanges for smaller pipes, and reducing flanges for pipes of varying sizes. Applications include high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive environments in industries such as chemical, oil and gas, aerospace, and power generation.

How is Alloy 600 heat treated?
Heat Treatment
Alloy 600 is not age-hardenable; cold working is the only available hardening method. Annealing softening begins at approximately 871°C (1600°F) and is essentially complete after heating at 982°C (1800°F) for 10 to 15 minutes.

Types of Inconel 600 Flanges
Blind Flanges:
Inconel 600 flanges are blind flanges made from Inconel 600 alloy, an iron-nickel-chromium superalloy. This material offers high strength and high-temperature corrosion resistance, making it an ideal choice for industrial applications and high-temperature environments. These flanges are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to suit any application, with pressure ratings ranging from 150# to 2500#.
Weld Neck Flanges:
Inconel 600 flanges are available in a variety of designs and sizes, with weld neck flanges being one of the most popular. Made from a nickel-chromium alloy, these flanges are highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation, and possess excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures. This makes them an ideal choice for petrochemical applications such as refineries, gas processing plants, power stations, and pharmaceutical plants, where extreme temperature fluctuations are common.
Slip-on Flanges:
Inconel 600 flanges are slip-on flanges that offer excellent corrosion and heat resistance due to their high chromium content. These flanges are often used in highly corrosive or high-temperature environments, such as in processing plants handling sulfuric, hydrochloric, or phosphoric acids. Inconel 600 slip-on flanges offer exceptional joint strength and integrity, maintaining dimensional stability even in extreme temperatures.
Lap-joint flanges:
Lap-joint flanges are used in piping systems requiring frequent maintenance. Inconel 600 slip-on flanges are ideal for applications where corrosion is a risk.
Socket-weld flanges:
Socket-weld flanges are suitable for small-diameter piping systems requiring a high-end sealing solution. Inconel 600 socket-weld flanges are ideal for applications involving high temperatures, high pressures, vibration, and high stresses.
