1. Chemical composition:
The main components of Hastelloy C22 Round Bar include nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), chromium (Cr) and iron (Fe). In addition, it also contains small amounts of tungsten (W) and titanium (Ti) and other elements.
The main components of Hastelloy C276 Rods are also nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), chromium (Cr), but compared with C22, it contains a higher molybdenum content and also contains a certain proportion of tungsten (W) and iron (Fe).
2. Corrosion resistance:
C22 Hot Finished Round has a wider range of corrosion resistance, especially in strong acid, strong alkali and chloride environments. It has good corrosion resistance in media such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, chlorides, sulfides, etc.
C276 Alloy Cold Drawn Bars also have excellent corrosion resistance, but compared with C22, its corrosion resistance may be slightly inferior under certain specific conditions, especially in chloride-containing media.
3. Oxidation resistance:
C22 Forged Bar alloy has good oxidation resistance and can form a stable oxide layer in high temperature environment to protect the matrix from oxidation.
C276 Cold Drawn Forged Bar also has good oxidation resistance, but it may be slightly insufficient under extreme high temperature conditions, and care should be taken to prevent oxidation.
4. Processing performance:
C22 Cold Drawn Hex Bar is relatively easy to process, including forming, welding, cutting and other processes. It has good hot and cold processing properties.
C276 Half Round Rods also have good processing properties and can be manufactured into various shapes and structures through various processing methods.
GNEE takes product quality very seriously and we use 3 levels to check the quality of materials like Duplex and Super Duplex Steel Pipes, Stainless Steel Round Bars, SS Bright Bars.
All the Nickel based alloy stocks held by GNEE are tested as per respective ASTM ASME standards and International Specifications like Norsok MDS, Shell MESC and ES-247.
We use NAMAS/UKAS approved testing agencies on a subcontract basis for any further testing requirements. We can arrange any third party testing as per the client's requirements.
