Hastelloy C276 VS Hastelloy C-4 Alloy Bars

1. Composition:
Hastelloy C276 alloy is mainly composed of elements such as nickel, chromium, molybdenum and iron. The specific composition is: nickel (Ni) is about 55%, chromium (Cr) is about 16-18%, molybdenum (Mo) is about 15-17%, and iron (Fe) is about 4-7%. In addition, it also contains a small amount of cobalt (Co), molybdenum (Mo) and copper (Cu).
Hastelloy C4: Hastelloy C4 alloy is mainly composed of elements such as nickel, chromium and molybdenum. The specific composition is: nickel (Ni) is about 65-70%, chromium (Cr) is about 14-18%, molybdenum (Mo) is about 14-17%, and iron (Fe) content is less than 2%.

 

2. Corrosion resistance:
Hastelloy C276 alloy rod has excellent corrosion resistance and can resist corrosion from most acidic, alkaline and oxidizing media, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, chlorides, etc. It is especially suitable for chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other fields.
Hastelloy C4 alloy bar also has very good corrosion resistance, and has excellent oxidation resistance, acid resistance and alkali resistance. Compared with Hastelloy C276, Hastelloy C4 has more outstanding corrosion resistance in strong reducing acid, chlorine-containing medium and oxidizing atmosphere.

 

3. Stress corrosion cracking resistance:
Hastelloy C276 Alloy Cold Drawn Bars has excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance and can maintain good performance stability under high temperature and high stress environment.
Hastelloy C4 Alloy Cold Drawn Bars also has good stress corrosion cracking resistance under high temperature and high stress environment, but it is slightly inferior to Hastelloy C276.

 

4. Application field:
Hastelloy C276: Hastelloy C276 alloy is widely used in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, aerospace and other fields, and is used to manufacture corrosion-resistant equipment, pipelines, valves, heat exchangers, etc.
Hastelloy C4: Hastelloy C4 alloy is mainly used in the chemical and petroleum industries, and is particularly suitable for corrosion-resistant equipment and components in chlorine-containing media, acidic media and oxidizing environments.
