What types of Inconel X-750 are available?
Inconel X-750 is available in plates, strips, bars, forgings, rings, wire and tubes. The characteristics and uses of these varieties are discussed in detail below:
Sheet: Sheet of Inconel X-750 is usually supplied hot or cold rolled, annealed or solution treated and pickled and polished. This form of material is suitable for manufacturing applications that require larger areas of material, such as structural parts for aerospace engines or other planar components in high-temperature environments.
Tape: Tape is often used where specific shapes and sizes are required, such as shields in the electronics industry or specific components in medical equipment. Strip is supplied in a similar condition to sheet and is also heat treated and surface treated to ensure its performance and corrosion resistance.
Bars: Bars can be used to make components such as shafts, pins, bolts, etc., which require high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Inconel X-750 bar can be supplied in the forged or hot-rolled condition, or can be solution treated to optimize its properties.
Forgings: Forgings are used to manufacture components of complex shapes and sizes, such as turbine disks for aircraft engines or pressure vessels for chemical equipment. Forgings are formed through a forging process, which helps increase the density and overall properties of the material.
Rings: Rings are specially designed for specific applications such as seals or springs that require excellent elasticity and corrosion resistance. Inconel X-750 rings can be optimized for relaxation resistance through a specific heat treatment process.
Wire: Wire is mainly used to make various types of springs and connectors that need to maintain high strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Inconel X-750 wire can adjust its properties through different solution and aging treatments.
Pipes: Pipes are used to make pipes, heat exchangers, and other cylindrical structures that need to withstand high temperatures and pressures. The pipes are supplied after solution treatment and removal of scale to ensure excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance both internally and externally.
Additionally, Inconel X-750 has good welding properties, making it an ideal choice when maintaining and fabricating complex engineering structures. At the same time, its high melting point and good heat resistance enable it to maintain stable physical and chemical properties in high-temperature environments, which is crucial for many high-temperature applications.
