What is the density of inconel 600?

1. Alloy composition
The main alloying elements of Inconel600 include nickel (about 70%), chromium (about 14%), iron (about 10%), and a small amount of cobalt, manganese, silicon, carbon, titanium (Ti), aluminum (Al) and other elements.

2. Physical properties
Density: The density of Inconel 600 is about 8.0g/cm³, which is a heavier metal material.
Melting point: The melting point of the alloy is around 1300℃, indicating that it has good high temperature resistance.
Thermal expansion coefficient: The thermal expansion coefficient of Inconel600 is low, about 13.6×10⁻⁶/℃, which is suitable for use in high temperature environments.
Thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity of the alloy is relatively low, about 14.7W/(m·℃), but it still has certain heat resistance.

3. Chemical properties
Corrosion resistance: Inconel600 shows good corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments, such as nitric acid, sulfuric acid and other strong oxidizing media. At the same time, the alloy also has a certain corrosion resistance in a reducing environment.
High temperature oxidation resistance: Inconel600 has good oxidation resistance at high temperatures and can maintain a stable organizational structure and performance under long-term high temperature.
Stress corrosion cracking resistance: The alloy has good crack propagation resistance in a stress corrosion environment and can resist the occurrence of stress corrosion cracking.

Inconel 600 is usually manufactured by combining hot working and cold working. Hot working includes steps such as batching, smelting, casting and heat treatment, among which heat treatment such as solution treatment and quenching treatment is essential for adjusting the microstructure and properties of the alloy. Cold working includes forging, rolling, drawing, cold drawing, cold rolling, etc., which can improve the strength and hardness of the alloy, but may also cause the material to become brittle.
