Inconel 600 vs Incoloy 825: What’s the difference?

Chemical composition
‌Inconel 600‌: Mainly composed of nickel, chromium, iron and a small amount of carbon. The specific chemical composition includes nickel (70%-75%), chromium (15%-25%), iron (balance), carbon (maximum 0.15%), etc. ‌Incoloy 825‌: Contains elements such as nickel, chromium, iron, copper, molybdenum and titanium. The specific chemical composition includes nickel (38%-46%), chromium (19.5%-23.5%), iron (22% minimum), copper (1.5%-3%), molybdenum (2.5%-3.5%), titanium (0.6%-1.2%), etc.

Inconel 600

‌Corrosion resistance

‌Inconel 600‌: It exhibits good corrosion resistance at high temperatures, especially suitable for oxidizing medium environments. It has good anti-oxidation and anti-hot corrosion properties, and is suitable for high temperature environments below 700°C ‌. ‌ ‌Incoloy 825‌: Excellent performance in oxidizing and reducing media, with extremely high corrosion resistance. It is particularly resistant to sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid, suitable for use in extremely corrosive environments, such as oil and gas well pipelines.

Application areas
‌Inconel 600‌: Widely used in aerospace, chemical, petrochemical and other fields, especially in applications requiring good corrosion resistance under high temperature environments.
‌Incoloy 825‌: Mainly used in chemical industry, petrochemical, food processing and other industries, especially for equipment manufacturing and piping systems in severe corrosive environments.
