What is the composition of INCOLOY 800H?
UNS N08810 / UNS N08811
Incoloy 800 H is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy with the same basic composition as Incoloy 800 but with significantly higher creep rupture strength. The higher strength results from tight control of carbon, aluminum and titanium content and high-temperature annealing. 800H modifications are made to control carbon (0.05 to 0.10%) and grain size (>ASTM 5) to optimize stress rupture properties. Incoloy 800 H has a further modified titanium and aluminum content combination (0.85 to 1.2%) to ensure optimal high temperature performance. This alloy is dual certified, combining the properties of both forms.
The chemical balance allows the alloy to exhibit excellent resistance to carburizing, oxidizing and nitriding atmospheres. Even with long-term use in the 1200-1600 degree F range where many stainless steels become brittle, 800HT will not become brittle. 800HT exhibits excellent cold forming properties typically associated with nickel-chromium alloys. When cold formed extensively, the grain size produces a distinct undulating surface known as "orange peel." 800HT can be welded using techniques commonly used on stainless steel.
Typical applications for this alloy include ethylene pyrolysis, hydrocarbon cracking, cracking furnaces for vinyl chloride, biphenol and acetic acid. The alloy is also used in valves, fittings and other parts exposed to corrosion at temperatures between 1100 and 1800 degrees Fahrenheit.
Round steel from 3/4" to 6" diameter, as well as light gauge plate and plate. Incoloy 800 H material can be supplied in random lengths, cut to order or machined to customer requirements. Mechanical processing includes drilling, threading, milling, CNC shapes, turning, tapping, flanging, etc.
