UNS N08825 seamless condenser nickel alloy tube

UNS N08825 seamless condenser nickel alloy tube
UNS N08825 seamless nickel alloy condenser tubes are made from Alloy 825 (also known as Incoloy 825), a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with added molybdenum, copper, and titanium. This alloy offers excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, meeting standards such as ASTM B163 or ASME SB-163, making it suitable for applications such as condensers and heat exchangers. The titanium helps prevent sensitization and intergranular corrosion, making it suitable for high-temperature and demanding chemical processes.
What is the difference between UNS N06625 and UNS N08825?
Inconel 625 vs. Incoloy 825 (UNS N06625 vs. UNS N08825)
The primary difference between the two materials is their nickel content. Inconel 625 contains at least 58% nickel, while Incoloy 825 has a nickel content between 38% and 46%. This makes 625 more expensive.

Key Characteristics of UNS N08825 (825 Alloy) Tubing
Composition: It is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing molybdenum, copper, and titanium.
Corrosion Resistance: It offers excellent corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing environments and is resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking and pitting.
Titanium Stabilization: The addition of titanium imparts resistance to intergranular corrosion, a problem that unstabilized stainless steels can develop after welding or high-temperature exposure.
Versatility: In addition to condensers, 825 Alloy can be used in a variety of demanding applications, including nuclear fuel reprocessing, oil and gas recovery, and chemical processing.
Condenser Tube Applications
Heat Exchangers: Due to its strong corrosion resistance and high-temperature capabilities, this tube is an ideal choice for condensers and heat exchangers.
Chemical Processing: Its excellent resistance to acids such as sulfuric and nitric acids enables efficient operation in various chemical and pollution control systems.
Standards and Specifications
UNS N08825: The U.S. standard designation for this alloy. ASTM B163: Standard Specification for Seamless Nickel and Nickel Alloy Condenser Tube.
ASME SB-163: Equivalent standard used in condenser and heat exchanger applications.
