Inconel 601 (UNS N06601) is a high-performance nickel-chromium-iron alloy known for its excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation and aqueous corrosion. It possesses good mechanical properties and high metallurgical stability, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments such as furnaces, petrochemical plants, and power generation facilities. This alloy can be manufactured into seamless or welded tubes and fittings (elbows, tees, reducers) for use in furnace components (radiant tubes, muffles), heat exchangers, catalyst supports, and combustion components, performing exceptionally well under high-temperature corrosive conditions where other alloys may fail.

What are the uses of Inconel 601 alloy?

In industrial furnaces, this alloy is used for radiant tubes, muffles, reactors, flame shields, continuous annealing tubes, woven wire mesh conveyor belts, chain curtains, burner nozzles, and resistance heating elements.

Nickel alloy Inconel 601 pipes and fittings are made of an alloy material. It possesses excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, good carburization resistance, and good oxidation resistance in sulfur-containing atmospheres. It also exhibits good mechanical properties and stress corrosion cracking resistance at both room temperature and elevated temperatures. Due to controlled carbon content and grain size, 601 alloy has higher creep rupture strength, therefore, it is recommended for use at temperatures above 500℃.

Inconel 601 nickel alloy tubes and fittings have the following characteristics:
1. Excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures
2. Very good resistance to carburization
3. Good oxidation resistance in sulfur-containing atmospheres
4. Good mechanical properties at both room and high temperatures
5. Due to controlled carbon content and grain size, it exhibits good resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Alloy 601 has high creep rupture strength, therefore, it is recommended for use in areas above 500℃.

Even under very harsh conditions, such as heating and cooling cycles, Alloy 601 forms a dense oxide film with high resistance to spalling. Alloy 601 has good resistance to carburization. Due to its high chromium and aluminum content, Alloy 601 exhibits good oxidation resistance in high-temperature sulfur-containing atmospheres.
