Incoloy 800HT Alloy Temperature Range

Incoloy 800HT Alloy Temperature Range
Incoloy 800HT is suitable for high-temperature environments, typically ranging from 1100°F (593°C) to 1800°F (982°C), and performs exceptionally well in applications where creep resistance and stress rupture strength are critical. Its higher aluminum/titanium content gives it superior performance compared to Incoloy 800H, especially under demanding thermal conditions such as those found in furnace components, heat exchangers, and chemical processing.
What are the differences between Inconel 625 and Inconel 800?
Compared to Inconel 625, these material grades have a lower nickel content. These Inconel alloy wires possess properties such as oxidation resistance, carburization resistance, and high-temperature corrosion resistance. Compared to the Inconel 625 alloy, Inconel 800 is known for its higher carbon content and excellent creep and fracture resistance.

About Alloy 800HT / INCOLOY 800HT
Incoloy alloy 800HT, through a combination of mechanical and thermal treatments, is able to withstand higher design stresses than conventional alloy 800H. Both materials are available, subject to commercial considerations, and certain specifications limit the operating temperature of some grades of INCOLOY alloy 800H. Applications for Incoloy alloy 800HT have expanded from petrochemical processing reformer tubes to bellows and flare tips in refineries. In the power generation sector, this material is also used in superheater and reheater tubes.
Furthermore, this material is widely and effectively used in heat treatment furnaces, muffles, jigs, and fixtures.

Key Temperature Characteristics:
Operating Range: The ideal operating temperature range is 1100°F (593°C) to 1800°F (982°C), within which it can be used continuously.
Optimal Performance: Optimal creep resistance is achieved when used at the upper end of the temperature range (approximately 1800°F).
Avoidance Zone (for certain situations): While 800HT does not embrittle in the 1200-1600°F temperature range, other alloys in the 800 series (such as Incoloy 800) may experience sensitization in the 1000-1400°F range, making 800HT a superior choice under these conditions.
Hot Working Temperatures:
General Hot Working: 1600°F to 2200°F (872°C to 1205°C).
Heavy Forming: Should be performed above 1850°F (1010°C).
Unique Features of 800HT:
It is an enhanced version of Alloy 800H, with the addition of specific titanium and aluminum elements, ensuring better creep strength and high-temperature corrosion resistance.
