High Temperature Properties of Inconel 600 Round Bar

Inconel 600 Round Bar

Inconel 600 round bars offer excellent high-temperature properties, maintaining strength and corrosion resistance up to 2000°F (1093°C). Due to their ability to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments, they are commonly used in the aerospace, nuclear reactor, and chemical processing industries.

High Temperature Properties of Inconel 600 Round Bar

What is the difference between Inconel 601 and 600?

Inconel 601 And 600

Inconel 600 and Inconel 601 are both very common high-temperature alloys. Both alloys offer excellent high-temperature performance. Inconel 601 has more chromium added to Inconel 600. Therefore, their primary difference lies in their oxidation resistance.

Key High-Temperature Properties of Inconel 600:
High Strength:
Inconel 600 maintains high strength at high temperatures, making it suitable for demanding applications.
Corrosion Resistance:
It is highly resistant to a wide range of corrosive media, including acidic and alkaline solutions, oxides, and chlorides.
Oxidation Resistance:
The chromium content provides oxidation resistance at high temperatures.

Inconel 600 alloy specific temperature ranges and applications:
General Use: Inconel 600 alloy is suitable for temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C).
Aerospace: Due to its high strength at high temperatures, it is used in the manufacture of jet engine components and turbine blades.
Nuclear Reactors: Its corrosion resistance makes it suitable for the manufacture of nuclear reactor components.
Chemical Processing: Used in heat exchangers, piping, and evaporators that handle corrosive chemicals.
Heat Treatment: Its high temperature and oxidation resistance make it very advantageous in furnace and annealing chamber applications.
Hot Working: Hot working temperatures range from 1600–2250°F (870–1230°C), with heavy-duty working temperatures ranging from 1900–2250°F (1040–1230°C).
