Differences between Inconel 601 and Alloy 625 flanges

Inconel 601 flanges, with the addition of aluminum, offer excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance (up to 2200°F), making them ideal for furnace components. In contrast, Inconel 625 flanges, due to their molybdenum and niobium content, possess superior overall corrosion resistance and strength, making them ideal for demanding chemical, aerospace, and marine applications, despite their higher cost and greater processing difficulty. 601 flanges are suitable for high-temperature, less corrosive environments; 625 flanges are suitable for environments with extreme chemical corrosion and where high strength is required.

What are the uses of Inconel 601 alloy?

In industrial furnaces, this alloy is used for radiant tubes, muffles, reactors, flame shields, continuous annealing tubes, woven wire mesh conveyor belts, chain curtains, burner nozzles, and resistance heating elements.
