Difference between Inconel 600 alloy bars and Inconel 625 round bars

Difference between Inconel 600 alloy bars and Inconel 625 round bars
Both Inconel 600 and 625 are nickel-chromium alloys, but due to its higher chromium and molybdenum content, Inconel 625 offers superior corrosion resistance (especially in seawater and acidic environments), strength, and weldability. Inconel 600 is more economical and suitable for high-temperature applications where corrosion resistance is sufficient; while Inconel 625 offers higher performance but is also more expensive, making it suitable for more demanding conditions.
What is Alloy 625?
Alloy 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy renowned for its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, making it particularly suitable for marine, chemical, and high-temperature environments. Its composition contains at least 58% nickel, 20% chromium, and 8% molybdenum, enabling it to resist a variety of corrosive environments, including chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, pitting corrosion, and crevice corrosion. It is widely used in industries such as aerospace, oil and gas, and nuclear power, and can be machined, welded, and rotated.
