CRGO Silicon Steel

CRGO silicon steel - is also called electrical steel or electric steel due to the silicon content in its composition. The term CRGO, or Cold Rolled Grain Oriented, refers to its physiochemical properties, thanks to which the steel is characterized by lower energy losses. The addition of silicon improves the magnetic properties of the sheet by enabling the production of the so-called oriented structure. The properties of silicon were discovered in 1900. Initially, the sheet was manufactured at high temperature. It was only 35 years later that the cold rolling process was mastered, which significantly improved its properties.

Silicon steel is used primarily in the construction of transformers. It is from there that the hearts of these devices, i.e. the cores, are created. Mini versions of transformers are available in every electrical device. They are a kind of power supplies. CRGO steel is also used in them.
