Alloy UNS N06600 Inconel 600 high temperature resistant pipe

Alloy UNS N06600 Inconel 600 high temperature resistant pipe
UNS N06600 alloy, also known as Inconel 600, is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature and corrosive environments, offering excellent oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1093°C. Its high nickel content makes it resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and various organic and inorganic compounds, while the chromium content provides resistance to oxidizing conditions and sulfur-containing compounds. Inconel 600 pipe is widely used in critical applications in the chemical, nuclear, and aerospace industries due to its high strength, good machinability, and versatility.
How high a temperature can Inconel alloy 600 withstand?
The hot working temperature range for Inconel alloy 600 is 1600–2250°F (870–1230°C). High-intensity working requires temperatures between 1900–2250°F (1040–1230°C), while light working can be performed at temperatures as low as 1600°F (870°C).

High-Temperature Applications
Chemical Industry: Furnaces, stills, and other components exposed to high temperatures.
Aerospace: Engine and airframe components, including exhaust liners and turbine seals.
Nuclear Industry: Due to its resistance to corrosion from high-purity water containing chloride ions, it can be used in the manufacture of nuclear reactor components.
Heat Treatment: Used in the manufacture of furnace components such as roller hearths, baskets, and trays.
Welding: Suitable for welding using TIG, MIG, and SMAW techniques.
Forming: Cold or hot forming can be performed at moderate temperatures and slow speeds.
Machining: Specialized tools, slow speeds, and effective lubricants are required to control temperatures and prevent work hardening.
