Hastelloy G3 (also known as "Alloy G3"), designated UNS N06985 or DIN 2.4619, is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with the addition of molybdenum and copper. It has good welding performance and the ability to resist intergranular corrosion under welding conditions. The low carbon content helps prevent sensitization of the weld heat affected zone and subsequent intergranular corrosion. Hastelloy G3 is commonly used in flue gas scrubbers and processing reducing acids such as phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid.
Hastelloy G3 is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, cobalt and other elements, with a nickel content of approximately 44%. Hastelloy G3 alloy, referred to as G3, is a nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy with superior performance. It belongs to the Ni-Cr-Fe series containing Mo and Cu. It has excellent resistance to oxidation, atmospheric corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, and has high resistance to local corrosion (pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion). Due to the high Fe content in this alloy, it is low-cost compared with other nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloys. G3 alloy is commonly used in flue gas desulfurization systems, papermaking, and phosphoric acid production steam generators and heat exchangers. This oil well pipe made of this alloy has excellent resistance to H2S, CO2, Cl- corrosion and is the best material for oil well pipes in sour gas fields.
Hastelloy B3 (UNS N10675/W.Nr. 2.4600/Alloy B3) is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with added chromium, iron, and other elements. It has excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. It also has good performance in non-oxidizing media such as sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid and phosphoric acid. Alloy B3 offers excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and knife line and heat affected zone erosion. Compared with Hastelloy B2, Hastelloy B3 has superior thermal stability. It is widely used in chemical processes, vacuum furnaces and piping components in reducing environments.
