UNS N02200 is a solid solution strengthened, commercially pure wrought material with excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It also has excellent resistance to alkaline bases at varying concentrations and temperatures. However, corrosion resistance is better in degassed acids. The alloy has low gas content and vapor pressure and high thermal and electrical conductivity.

UNS N02200 is widely used in the chemical and electronics industries. It is also used in the aerospace, petrochemical, power generation, and marine/offshore industries. Typical applications for UNS N02200 include electronic and electroplating components, alkali evaporators, food processing equipment, alkali handling and storage equipment, synthetic fiber production, salt production, and other processes using sodium hydroxide and fluorine.
Corrosion resistance
UNS N02200 has excellent corrosion resistance in reducing and neutral media and oxidizing atmospheres, provided that the oxidizing media can form a passive oxide film. This oxide film gives the alloy excellent corrosion resistance in corrosive environments.
