Incoloy Alloy 803 is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy mainly composed of nickel, chromium, iron, molybdenum and aluminum. This alloy is designed to provide excellent mechanical properties and oxidation resistance at high temperatures, but it is not suitable for every scenario. Here are some scenarios where Incoloy Alloy 803 may not be suitable:
High temperature vulcanization environment: Although Incoloy Alloy 803 has good high temperature properties, it may be corroded in sulfur-containing environments, especially at high temperatures. This is because the sulfidation environment may cause corrosion on the alloy surface, affecting the integrity and performance of the material.
Resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking: Incoloy Alloy 803 may be susceptible to stress corrosion cracking in the presence of chloride ions, especially under stress. Therefore, this alloy should be used with caution if chloride ions are present in the application environment, especially when the material is subject to stress.
In addition, for some specific chemicals, specific Incoloy alloys may need to be selected to deal with their attack. For example, some alloys may be better suited to resist corrosion in acidic or alkaline environments than Incoloy Alloy 803.
