UNS S32760 is a super duplex stainless steel.
This material is designed for use in corrosive environments containing chlorides and offers excellent resistance to localized corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength. It combines the ideal properties of austenitic and ferritic steel grades, improving their properties by adding elements such as tungsten (W) and copper (Cu). S32760 dual-phase steel is resistant to corrosion by various inorganic and organic acids, and the added copper element gives it excellent corrosion resistance. In addition, it is also resistant to strong alkali corrosion, but it is not suitable for use in environments with long-term operating temperatures above 300°C, because above this temperature, the toughness of the material will significantly decrease.
Super duplex stainless steel S32760 is widely used in many fields due to its excellent physical properties and corrosion resistance, including the oil and gas industry, water treatment facilities, pressure vessels, pulp and paper industry, structural parts, and chemical tankers. Its heat treatment is usually annealing at 1100°C followed by water quenching. Moreover, this material has very good weldability and is easy to process and manufacture.
