Super alloy has high strength, high hardness, high corrosion resistance, high thermal stability and good machinability, and is widely used in aviation, aerospace, automotive, medical, chemical, petrochemical, coal chemical and high temperature industrial fields.
More and more research shows that super alloy can meet the requirements of various industrial, medical, sports and other high-performance materials, which has become the focus of molybdenum metallurgy scholars and research and development personnel.
According to World Metal Statistics, the demand for super alloys in the world's industrially developed countries is growing. In 2000, the United States super alloy consumption of molybdenum 1880t, consumption of molybdenum 2229 t in 2001, consumption of molybdenum 1880t in 2002, consumption of molybdenum 1870t in 2003, the annual average consumption of about 8% to 12% of the total consumption of molybdenum.
Molybdenum based super alloys are mainly used in the field of high temperature, and the consumption of all kinds of molybdenum rhenium alloys accounts for about 0.7% ~ 1.0% of the total consumption of molybdenum.
