Nickel-based alloys are the most important and commonly used superalloys. As early as the middle of the 20th century, it was widely used in the chemical industry and chemical industry. Molybdenum can significantly improve the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of nickel, especially in reducing acids, such as acetic acid, hydrochloric acid or phosphoric acid, especially corrosion resistance. However, in order to further improve the corrosion resistance of the nickel-based alloy and the thermal stability of the alloy, molybdenum should be added by 20% to 25%(atomic fraction, the same below). For a long time, the addition of molybdenum to nickel to 19% has been very difficult, and this nickel-molybdenum alloy can hardly be processed into commercially available profiles (thick plate, sheet and pipe). After years of hard work, researchers at Haynes International have developed a new nickel-based alloy with high molybdenum content and virtually no copper.
The new nickel-based alloy is made by casting the alloy elements into electrodes, then remelting the electrodes into ingots by electroslag, making the alloy ingots hot forged into plate steel, hot rolled into medium thick plate, and finally cold rolled into thin sheet. The thermal stability, strength, hardness and corrosion resistance of the new nickel-based alloy are obviously improved compared with the existing nickel-based alloy. Widely used in the manufacture of chemical equipment, pipes and valves, is a high quality, advanced alloy new material.
