Mild Steel Round Bar

What is the use of mild steel round bar?
Mild steel round bar is a key component in the assembly of heavy machinery and equipment. It is often used to manufacture gears and spindles for industrial machinery. It is also used in engine components due to its high mechanical strength and affordability.
What thickness does mild steel bar come in?
Widths range from 10 mm to 150 mm, and thicknesses can reach up to 12 meters. Diameters include 10 mm, 13 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 50 mm, 60 mm, 65 mm, 70 mm, 75 mm, 80 mm, 90 mm, 100 mm, 120 mm, and 150 mm. Custom-sized strips are also available upon request.

Why does mild steel require surface treatment?
Because mild steel has poor corrosion resistance, a final surface treatment is necessary to provide long-term protection and extend the life of the finished product. The most common surface treatment processes include powder coating-a dry powder is sprayed onto the steel surface and then baked.
Does mild steel rust easily?
Mild steel is highly reactive and readily reduces to iron oxide (rust) in the presence of water, oxygen, and ions. Steel's high susceptibility to oxidation when exposed to the environment means it must be adequately protected to achieve or even exceed its design lifespan.

Gnee Steel specializes in the production of various nickel-based alloys. Gnee Steel's product packaging includes steel strapping: Pipes with an outer diameter of 3 inches or less are typically strapped together with polypropylene film to prevent rust during sea transportation, and then secured with steel strapping. Wooden boxes/crates: Pipes are typically packaged in wooden boxes or crates to protect them during transportation, especially those that are longer or have larger diameters. Seaworthy export packaging: Suppliers typically use standard seaworthy export packaging methods, which may include a variety of materials and techniques to protect the pipes during transportation. Tarpaulin packaging: This prevents rainwater, seawater, and other external factors from penetrating the export wooden crates during transportation. Gnee Steel specializes in the production and sale of alloy materials. Gnee Steel's products are widely used in aerospace, chemical, power, automotive, nuclear, and other industries, and we can provide customized alloy material solutions based on customer needs.
