Other names for AISI 4027H alloy steel include UNS H40270 and AISI 4027H.

AISI 4027H is an H-grade alloy steel. It is commonly known as AISI 4027H molybdenum steel. Its composition is (weight percentage) 0.24-0.30% carbon (C), 0.60-1.00% manganese (Mn), 0.20-0.30% molybdenum (Mo), 0.035% phosphorus (P), 0.040% sulfur (S), 0.15- 0.30% silicon (Si) and base metal iron (Fe). Other names for AISI 4027H alloy steel include UNS H40270 and AISI 4027H.
Steel is the common name for a large class of ferrous alloys. Steel can be cast directly into shape or cast into ingots and then reheated and hot-worked into a forged shape by forging, extrusion, rolling, or other processes. Forged steel is the most commonly used engineering material and comes in many forms with different surface treatments and properties. Alloy steel is steel that exceeds the elemental limits of carbon steel. However, steels containing more than 3.99% chromium are classified differently as stainless steel and tool steel. Alloy steel also includes steel that contains elements not found in carbon steel, such as nickel, chromium (up to 3.99%), cobalt, etc.
Typical elastic modulus of alloy steel at room temperature (25°C) ranges from 190 to 210 GPa. The typical density of alloy steel is about 7.85 g/cm3. Typical tensile strengths vary from 758 to 1882 MPa. The larger range of ultimate tensile strength is due to different heat treatment conditions.
