1. Chemical composition
Inconel 600: Mainly composed of nickel (Ni) and chromium (Cr), with a nickel content of about 72% and a chromium content of about 14%~17%. In addition, it also contains a small amount of iron (Fe), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), carbon (C) and sulfur (S) and other elements.
Inconel 625: It is a low-carbon nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy with a nickel content of about 58%, a chromium content of about 20%~23%, a molybdenum content of about 8%~10%, and a niobium content of about 3.15%~4.15%. In addition, it also contains a small amount of iron (Fe), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), carbon (C), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), titanium (Ti) and aluminum (Al) and other elements.
2. Performance characteristics
Corrosion resistance:
Inconel 600: It has very good corrosion resistance to general corrosive media, but its corrosion resistance in nitric acid and chloride media is relatively poor.
Inconel 625: It has excellent corrosion resistance, especially for seawater, acidic environment, alkaline solution and chloride medium. It is also able to resist stress corrosion cracking and chloride ion stress corrosion cracking.
Antioxidation performance:
Inconel 600: It has relatively good oxidation resistance, but is prone to oxidation corrosion at high temperatures.
Inconel 625: It has excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures and can maintain good stability in high temperature environments below 1000C.
High temperature performance:
Inconel 600: Although it has good corrosion resistance, its high temperature performance is relatively poor. The melting point is about 1370C, but its strength and toughness will decrease at high temperatures.
Inconel 625: It has excellent high temperature performance and can maintain high strength and toughness at high temperatures. Its melting point is about 1290C, and it can be used for a long time in high temperature environments below 1100C.
3. Application fields
Inconel 600: Due to its good corrosion resistance, it is mainly used in high-temperature chemical reaction equipment, furnaces, furnace tubes and heat exchangers. It is widely used in chemical industry, nuclear energy, aerospace and other fields.
Inconel 625: Due to its excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature performance, it is widely used in aerospace, chemical industry, marine engineering and nuclear industry. For example, oil extraction equipment, petrochemical equipment, nuclear reactor components, etc.
4. Heat treatment method
Inconel 600: In order to improve its performance, heat treatment methods such as solution treatment, quenching treatment, aging treatment and stress annealing are often used. These treatments can effectively eliminate internal stress, improve the plasticity and machinability of the material, as well as hardness and strength.
Inconel 625: It also has a variety of heat treatment methods, such as high solution annealing, low solution annealing and stress relief. These treatments can optimize the microstructure of the alloy and improve its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in high temperature environments.
