Inconel 600 and Inconel 718

What is the maximum service temperature for Inconel 600?
2000°F
Inconel 600 (AMS 5540) is a nickel-chromium alloy designed for cryogenic use and high temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C).
What is the difference between Inconel 600 and 718?
Inconel 600 has excellent corrosion resistance and formability, making it suitable for chemical processing and marine applications. On the other hand, Inconel 718 has excellent high-temperature strength and creep resistance, making it the preferred choice for aerospace and oil and gas applications.

What are the service temperature limits for Inconel 718 alloy?
-200°C to 710°C.
INCONEL 718 alloy (UNS N07718/W.Nr. 2.4668) is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel-chromium alloy material with a service temperature range of -200°C to 710°C.
What is INCONEL Alloy 718 used for?
INCONEL Alloy 718 is commonly used in the aerospace industry. Engineers are constantly looking to improve engine reliability and efficiency, not to mention extend their service life. High-temperature alloys, especially Alloy 718, are widely chosen for their balance between cost and performance.

Difference Between Inconel 600 and 718
Inconel 600
Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy that has good resistance to oxidation and corrosion at elevated temperatures. Due to its high nickel content, Inconel 600 has strong resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Inconel 600 is hardened and strengthened by cold working alone, so age hardening is not required. Inconel 600 can operate at temperatures from cryogenic to 700°F (370°C).

INCONEL 718 (UNS N07718)
Inconel Alloy 718 is an austenitic nickel-based high temperature alloy. Its UNS number is N07718 and its Werkstoff number is 2.4668. The chemical composition of Inconel 718 is: 52% nickel, 19% chromium, 18% iron, 5% niobium, 3% molybdenum, and 1% titanium. Alloy 718 is mainly used for gas turbine engine piping, cryogenic storage tanks, springs and fasteners, and motor components. In most applications, Alloy 718/Inconel Alloy 718 is usually solution annealed and precipitation hardened. Inconel Alloy 718 hardens by precipitation of secondary phases.
