What is the common use of Hastelloy C276?
Hastelloy C-276, also sold as Nickel Alloy C-276, is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium deformed alloy. Hastelloy C-276 is ideally suited where protection from severe and localized corrosion is required. Other important properties of the alloy Nickel Alloy C-276 and Hastelloy C-276 include its resistance to oxidizing agents such as:
Ferric chloride and copper chloride
Organic and inorganic thermal contamination media
Chlorine (wet chlorine)
seawater
acid
hypochlorite
carbon dioxide

Additionally, Nickel Alloy C-276 and Hastelloy C-276 can be welded using all common welding methods (oxyacetylene is not recommended). Because of Hastelloy C-276's excellent corrosion resistance, it is used in a wide range of critical applications across a variety of industries, including:
