What is the ASTM number for Inconel 625?
Overview
Inconel 625 is a material with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and corrosion cracking. Inconel 625 is highly resistant to a wide range of organic and mineral acids. High strength at elevated temperatures.
Features
Excellent mechanical properties at both very low and very high temperatures.
Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and intergranular corrosion.
Almost completely immune to stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides.
High oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures up to 1050C.
Good resistance to acids such as nitric, phosphoric, sulfuric and hydrochloric acids as well as alkalis, allowing the manufacture of thin structural components with high heat transfer.
Applications
Components that require exposure to seawater and high mechanical stresses.
In oil and gas production, hydrogen sulfide and elemental sulfur are present at temperatures exceeding 150C.
Components exposed to flue gases or flue gas desulfurization units.
Flare stacks on offshore oil platforms.
Processing of hydrocarbons from tar sands and oil shale recovery projects.
