What is Monel piping?
Monel 400 is a popular nickel-copper alloy often employed in high-performance applications. This alloy exhibits high resistance to acidic and alkaline environments, high strength, and good ductility and thermal conductivity. Suitable for temperatures ranging from subzero to 1,000°F (538°C), Monel 400 can be hardened only by cold-working.
Unique among Monel alloys, Monel 400 is considered a "puritan alloy" because it contains the same amounts of nickel and copper content as naturally-occurring nickel ore found in Ontario, Canada's Sudbury mines.
