What are the physical properties of Monel K500?
Alloy K-500 / MONEL K-500
Alloy K-500 / Monel K-500 is the most widely used precipitation-strengthened version of the nickel-copper family, with controlled amounts of titanium and aluminum added to the base MONEL alloy 400 during the melt process.

About Alloy K-500 / MONEL K-500
Many suppliers claim to produce this material, but the problem is not what is in the specification, but what is not specified causing integrity issues.
Properly produced Alloy K-500 can be hot worked or cold worked and subsequently heat treated to form an alloy with high strength and toughness compared to the base alloy. Use in fasteners and valve internals in the oil extraction, marine and chemical processing sectors takes advantage of this capability.
Combined with good machinability and weldability to similar materials, this broadens the range of applications for seawater pumps, shafts and valve shafts, and valve plate spring seals. Monel K-500 is widely used as a scraper to separate paper strips from rolls in the continuous production of paper products.
Available in machined or precision ground bars, annealed or fully heat treated, forgings, and plates or strip to international and military (QQ N) specifications.
Excellent corrosion resistance in anhydrous hydrofluoric acid allows the alloy to be used to manufacture valves, stems, and internal components. In seawater service, MONEL Alloy 400 and MONEL Alloy K-500 combinations can be used to manufacture screens, housings, filters, pipes, and fittings.
