What are the mechanical properties of nickel alloy 600?

What are the mechanical properties of nickel alloy 600?
Nickel alloy 600 (INCONEL 600) possesses excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile and yield strength (especially in the cold-worked condition, where tensile strength can reach approximately 220 ksi), good ductility (elongation of 55-35% in the annealed state), excellent fatigue resistance, and superior impact strength. It maintains these characteristics over a wide temperature range, resisting embrittlement at low temperatures and creep at high temperatures, making it suitable for a variety of demanding applications.
What is the difference between Inconel 600 and Alloy 600?
Nickel alloy 600, also sold under the brand name Inconel 600, is a unique nickel-chromium alloy known for its oxidation resistance at high temperatures. It is versatile and can be used in a wide range of applications, from cryogenic environments to temperatures as high as 2000°F (1093°C).

Main Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength: Varies considerably; annealed sheet material is approximately 80-100 ksi (550-690 MPa), but spring-tempered wire can reach 220 ksi (1520 MPa).
Yield Strength (0.2% offset): Approximately 35 ksi (241 MPa) in the annealed condition for strip, and 25-50 ksi (172-345 MPa) for other forms, increasing with the degree of cold working.
Elongation: Approximately 30-45% in the annealed condition, indicating excellent ductility, decreasing with increasing cold working.
Impact Strength: High, approximately 160-180 ft-lb at 13 mm thickness, remaining stable over a wide temperature range and resistant to embrittlement.
Hardness: Hardness range for bars/rods is 65-85B (Rockwell B), and up to 88B for sheets/tubes, increasing with the degree of cold working.
Creep/Rupture: Exhibits excellent high-temperature strength and creep resistance, crucial for furnace bodies and high-temperature components.
Performance at Extreme Temperatures
High Temperature: Maintains strength and resists oxidation at temperatures up to approximately 2000°F (1090°C) and even higher, making it an ideal material for furnace components and mufflers.
Low Temperature: Maintains toughness and impact strength, avoiding embrittlement, suitable for cryogenic equipment.
Other Characteristics:
Corrosion Resistance: High nickel content provides resistance to reducing environments; chromium content enhances oxidation resistance; resistant to stress corrosion cracking, seawater corrosion, and corrosion by various acids.
Density: 8.47 g/cm³ (0.306 lb/in³).
Magnetic Properties: Non-magnetic.
