What are the differences between Inconel 601 round bars and Inconel X750 round bars?

Due to its aluminum content, Inconel 601 round bar exhibits excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation and carburization, making it ideal for furnace components. Inconel X-750 bar, through precipitation hardening, maintains exceptional tensile strength and creep rupture strength at temperatures up to 1300°F (700°C), making it an ideal choice for aerospace and turbine components requiring high mechanical properties. In short, 601 alloy bars are suitable for heat-resistant applications in extremely high-temperature environments, while X-750 alloy bars are suitable for high-strength applications in high-temperature environments. X-750 round bar is an improved version of the 600 alloy bar, with the addition of aluminum and titanium for age hardening treatment.

What is the difference between Inconel 601 and Inconel 600?

Inconel 600 and 601 are both high-temperature nickel alloys, but Inconel 601 contains added aluminum, giving it superior high-temperature oxidation and carburization resistance, making it ideal for use in furnaces. Inconel 600, on the other hand, offers broader general corrosion resistance, better resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, and lower cost, making it suitable for chemical processing and marine environments. The main difference between the two lies in the higher aluminum content of 601, which improves its thermal stability, while 600 provides a versatile and cost-effective solution for non-extreme conditions, although 601 also exhibits higher creep strength.

Inconel 601 And Inconel 600

What is Inconel 601 round bar? And its uses
Inconel 601 round bar is a nickel-chromium alloy used in high-temperature applications. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, maintains excellent strength properties at temperatures up to 2100°F, and exhibits good oxidation resistance up to 2000°F. Its uses include furnace components, heat exchangers, chemical processing equipment, jet engine components, and nuclear reactor fuel elements.

What is Inconel X750 round bar? And its uses
Inconel X750 round bar is an age-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy used in aerospace, chemical processing, and nuclear reactor applications. It offers excellent oxidation and scaling resistance at high temperatures, as well as high strength and creep rupture resistance, making it suitable for high-temperature environments. Its uses include turbine discs, fan blades, springs, and welded exhaust components.

Thermal Stability
In terms of thermal stability, both Inconel 601 round bars and Inconel X750 bars exhibit excellent high-temperature resistance. However, due to the addition of niobium and titanium, Inconel X750 bars have superior creep resistance, resulting in better thermal stability when exposed to high temperatures for extended periods. Inconel 601 bars do not have outstanding creep resistance, thus limiting their application at extremely high temperatures.

Corrosion Resistance
Both Inconel 601 and Inconel X750 bars exhibit excellent corrosion resistance in various environments. However, Inconel 601 bars are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking in chloride solutions. Therefore, it is not recommended for use in seawater and other chloride-containing environments. On the other hand, Inconel X750 bars possess superior corrosion resistance, including resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

Applications
Inconel 601 bars are commonly used in the aerospace industry, such as for gas turbine components, heat treatment fixtures, and radiant tubes. It is also used in the chemical and heat treatment industries. Due to its strength, thermal stability, and corrosion resistance, Inconel X750 bars are used in the aerospace, petrochemical, and nuclear industries. It is used in high-temperature gas turbines, jet engines, and nuclear reactor components.
