Heating to 1,000–1,200°C to dissolve carbides and intermetallic phases, followed by rapid cooling (quenching) to form a uniform austenitic matrix.

Precipitation strengthening (aging):Heating to 700–950°C to precipitate γ' (Ni₃(Al, Ti)) or γ'' (Ni₃Nb) phases, enhancing strength. For example:

Inconel 718: Solution treatment at ~950°C, then aged at 720°C for 8 hours (slow cooling) + 620°C for 8 hours (air cooling).
