Nickel 601 Alloy chemical composition
Inconel 601 is a nickel-chromium alloy (UNS N06601) known for its high-temperature strength. Its main components are nickel (58-63%), chromium (21-25%), and iron (balance), with small amounts of aluminum (1.0-1.7%) added to improve oxidation resistance, as well as trace amounts of carbon, manganese, sulfur, silicon, and copper.
How to weld inconel 601?
The most commonly used welding techniques for welding Inconel 601 alloy are Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding and Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. TIG welding is the most frequently used technique, as it provides high-quality welds and allows for precise control of heat input and filler metal.

Overview
Inconel 601 nickel-chromium-iron alloy is a versatile engineering material suitable for applications requiring heat and corrosion resistance. A prominent feature of Inconel 601 is its excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation. The alloy also possesses good resistance to aqueous corrosion, high mechanical strength, and is easily formed, machined, and welded.
Inconel 601 has a face-centered cubic solid solution structure, exhibiting high metallurgical stability. The alloy is nickel-based and contains a significant amount of chromium, enabling it to withstand various corrosive media and high-temperature environments. The addition of aluminum further enhances its oxidation resistance.
