Inconel 600: A nickel-chromium (Ni-Cr) superalloy (≈72% Ni, 15-17% Cr, 6-8% Fe) designed for extreme environments. Its core advantage lies in excellent high-temperature stability and resistance to oxidation/corrosion in aggressive media (e.g., high-temperature gases, alkaline solutions).
SS 304: Austenitic stainless steel (≈18% Cr, 8-10.5% Ni, balance Fe), a general-purpose alloy. It offers good corrosion resistance in mild environments and moderate strength but lacks the high-temperature resilience of Inconel 600.

Choose Inconel 600 if your application demands high-temperature stability (above 538°C), resistance to aggressive chemicals (e.g., alkalis, molten salts), or high creep strength (e.g., aerospace, nuclear, or industrial furnace parts).
Choose SS 304 for general-purpose use in mild environments (e.g., food processing equipment, household fixtures, freshwater piping) where cost-effectiveness, ease of fabrication, and basic corrosion resistance are prioritized.
