Is nickel 201 magnetic?

Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) and 201 (UNS N02201) are dual certified wrought nickel materials. They differ only in the maximum carbon content - 0.15% for Nickel 200 and 0.02% for Nickel 201.

Nickel 200 is generally limited to operation at temperatures below 600°F (315°C) because at higher temperatures it may suffer the effects of graphitization which can severely damage property. At higher temperatures Nickel 201 should be utilized. Both classes are approved to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Part 1. Nickel 200 is approved for operation in temperatures up to 600°F (315°C), while Nickel 201 is approved up to 1250°F (677°C).

Both grades exhibit excellent resistance to caustic soda corrosion and other alkalis. The properties of this alloy are most effective in reducing the environment, but can also be used under oxidizing conditions to produce a passivating oxide film. Both of them resist corrosion through distillation, natural water and flowing seawater but are attacked by stagnant seawater.
Nickel 200 and 201 are ferromagnetic and exhibit high ductility and a wide range of mechanical properties over a wide temperature range. Both grades are easy to weld and manufactured by standard shop fabrication practices.
