1. Chemical composition
Monel alloy: Monel alloy is a nickel-based alloy, usually nickel-based, generally containing about 60% nickel, and copper and other elements are added as needed. The main material grades involved are Monel 400, Monel 404, Monel K500, Monel R405, etc.
Stainless steel: Stainless steel is an iron-based alloy. Generally, iron-based alloys containing more than 12.5% chromium can be called stainless steel. Depending on the grade of stainless steel, elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and titanium will be added.
2. Adaptability to the use environment
Monel alloy: Monel alloy can be used in reducing environments, such as fluorine-containing environments. It has excellent corrosion resistance and can perform well in acidic, alkaline and saline media.
Stainless steel: Stainless steel is suitable for oxidizing environments, but it is not suitable for environments with high chloride ion content, especially fluorine-containing environments. Its corrosion resistance will be limited in these environments.
3. Physical and Mechanical Properties
Monel alloy: Monel alloy maintains good mechanical properties in high temperature environment, has a high melting point and oxidation resistance, and has good creep resistance, which makes it have a longer life and stable mechanical properties under long-term high temperature use.
Stainless steel: Stainless steel also has excellent high temperature strength and heat resistance, and can maintain good physical and chemical properties in high temperature environment, but its specific performance will vary according to the grade and composition of stainless steel.
4. Processability and weldability
Monel alloy: Monel alloy has good processability and weldability, and can be formed and welded by various common processing methods, which is convenient for making parts and equipment of complex shapes.
Stainless steel: Stainless steel also has good processability and weldability, but its specific performance will also be affected by the grade and composition of stainless steel.
GNEE can provide prefabrication of pipes with diameters from DN15 (1/2") to DN3000 (120"), wall thickness grades SCH5S to SCH160, and materials covering various grades: carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex stainless steel/super duplex steel, nickel-based alloy, titanium alloy, etc. The products are widely used in domestic and foreign industries such as petroleum, petrochemical, shipbuilding, metallurgy, electricity, food, pharmaceuticals, machinery, etc.
