Is alloy 600 magnetic?
Alloy 600
Alloy 600 is a non-nickel-chromium-iron high-temperature alloy with excellent properties such as high strength, hot and cold workability and high corrosion resistance. It still has good strength at high temperatures up to 1150°C and will not corrode.
The high chromium content of Alloy 600 improves its oxidation resistance, while the high nickel content provides good corrosion resistance under reducing conditions. The alloy also exhibits very good resistance to chloride corrosion cracking, pitting from ammonia, fresh and salt water, loss and most organic acids and compounds. Alloy 600 also performs well at low temperatures.
