Inconel 617 alloy thick wall pipe

Information about Inconel 617 alloy thick wall pipe
Inconel 617 heavy-wall pipe is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy. Its excellent resistance to oxidation, carburization, and wet corrosion makes it a popular choice for thick-walled piping in high-temperature applications such as gas turbines and chemical processing. Key components such as aluminum, cobalt, and molybdenum impart stability, strength, and resistance to a wide range of environments, making it an ideal choice for demanding industrial conditions.
What is the difference between Alloy 625 and Alloy 617?
Alloy 617 derives its strength from its cobalt (10-15%) and molybdenum (8-10%) content. For higher performance, INCONEL Alloy 625 has a similar composition to Alloy 617 but with the addition of niobium, which increases the alloy's strength without requiring special heat treatment.

As a leading Inconel pipe supplier in China, Gnee Steel manufactures and produces a wide range of Inconel 617 thick-walled pipes.
INCONEL 617 alloy pipe (UNS N06617 / W.Nr. 2.4663a) is a solid-solution-strengthened nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy with excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. The alloy also offers excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments and is easily formed and welded using conventional processes.
Inconel 617 thick-walled pipe is a seamless, thick-walled Inconel 617 pipe. Compared to seamless Inconel 617 pipe, it inherits the high-temperature and corrosion resistance of Inconel 617 while also offering superior high-pressure resistance. Therefore, Inconel 617 thick-walled pipe is commonly used in high-pressure equipment. During the manufacturing process, due to the thick wall thickness, cold rolling and cold drawing processes are no longer applicable, so Inconel 617 thick wall pipe is made of Inconel 617 round bar through perforation and hot rolling.

Advantages of Inconel 617 Pipe

High-Temperature Resistance: Inconel 617 pipes offer exceptional high-temperature resistance, maintaining their strength and mechanical properties even at elevated temperatures, making them ideal for high-temperature applications.
Oxidation Resistance: Alloying elements provide excellent oxidation resistance by forming a passive oxide layer, extending the alloy's service life in oxygen-containing environments.
Water Resistance: Inconel 617 pipes also exhibit a low rate of aqueous corrosion, allowing them to withstand exposure to water or aqueous solutions without compromising performance.
Creep Resistance: These pipes exhibit excellent creep strength, meaning they resist deformation caused by high stresses at elevated temperatures, resulting in exceptional long-term reliability.
Excellent Mechanical Properties: Inconel 617 pipes maintain high mechanical strength and toughness at elevated temperatures, providing excellent structural integrity and durability in critical applications.
Manufacturing Efficiency: Material properties such as weldability and formability enhance the manufacturing process, as complex pipe designs can be fabricated more accurately and quickly, reducing manufacturing time and costs.
