Inconel Alloy 601 Material Information Introduction

Inconel 601 (UNS N06601) is a high-performance nickel-chromium alloy with added aluminum, renowned for its exceptional resistance to high-temperature oxidation and corrosion, as well as its excellent mechanical strength at elevated temperatures (up to approximately 2000°F/1093°C). It forms a stable and adherent oxide layer, making it ideal for demanding applications in industrial furnaces, petrochemicals, power generation, aerospace (e.g., gas turbines), and pollution control (e.g., exhaust systems). Its good workability allows for standard forming, welding, and machining techniques similar to those used for stainless steel.
