Inconel 718 precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy welded steel pipe

Inconel 718 precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy welded steel pipe
Inconel 718 welded steel pipe is made from a precipitation-hardening nickel-chromium alloy known for its high strength, good ductility, excellent corrosion resistance, and outstanding fatigue strength over a wide temperature range, including cryogenic to high-temperature applications. Its key properties include excellent weldability and resistance to post-weld cracking, making it suitable for demanding applications in aerospace and other industries.
What is precipitation hardening in INCONEL 718?
Alloy 718 is hardened by the precipitation of secondary phases (such as gamma-ray and gamma-ray duplex) within the metal matrix. Precipitation of these nickel (aluminum, titanium, and niobium) phases is achieved by heat treating in the temperature range of 1100 to 1500°F (750 to 850°C).
