Inconel Alloy 625 Rod – Excellent Corrosion Resistance and High-Temperature Strength
Excellent Corrosion Resistance and Solid Solution Effect
Compared to Alloy 718, Alloy 625 exhibits significantly higher corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments. Due to the solid solution effect of refractory metals, it exhibits excellent toughness and strength from cryogenic temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C).
This specialized Inconel grade withstands stress rupture up to 1200°F (649°C) and resists scaling and oxidation at temperatures up to 2000°C. Inconel Alloy Rod also offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion and chloride fatigue.
Excellent Performance in Highly Corrosive Environments
This Inconel alloy has demonstrated resistance to highly corrosive environments, particularly in alkaline, freshwater, saltwater, air, and neutral salt environments. Alloying elements such as nickel and chromium provide corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments, while molybdenum protects against pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy remains stable during welding and is not susceptible to sensitization.
Inconel Bar Hardness, Machinability, and Hardenability
Inconel bar offers good hardness, machinability, and hardenability. Its hardness typically ranges from 185 BHN to 287 BHN. The microstructure of Inconel 625 alloy remains austenitic at both low and high temperatures. While heat treatment does not harden the alloy, it can be hardened through cold working.
Advantages of Inconel 625 Bar
Inconel 625 bar offers several advantages, making it a popular choice for various industries, including aerospace and defense. It is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, has high tensile strength, and can be easily machined into a variety of complex shapes.
Furthermore, this Inconel alloy bar is a high-performance material widely used in aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear power generation, and chemical processing.
