Inconel 600 alloy sheet, conforming to ASTM B168 standard (UNS N06600), is a nickel-chromium-iron high-temperature alloy known for its high strength, excellent oxidation resistance, high-temperature resistance (up to 2000°F/1093°C), and good resistance to various corrosive environments, including chloride stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is supplied in annealed or cold-rolled sheet, strip, and plate forms, suitable for demanding applications in aerospace, chemical, and nuclear industries.
What is Inconel 600 material?
Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy that exhibits good oxidation resistance at high temperatures and also offers good corrosion resistance in carburizing and chlorine-containing environments. Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy designed for use across a wide range of temperatures, from cryogenic temperatures to high temperatures (up to 2000°F/1093°C).
These Inconel 600 plates are commonly referred to as oxidation-resistant alloys and possess many other excellent properties. Inconel 600 is known by its trade name and is also sold under the names Nickel 600, Alloy 600, Nickelvac 600, and Ferrochronin 60. This nickel-chromium alloy 600 plate is one of the most widely used plates in several industries and is typically supplied in the form of plates, coils, and strips.
Many of our customers prefer to use ASTM B168 UNS N06600 plates in low-temperature environments, up to high temperatures of approximately 2000°F. This is because, at high temperatures, the nickel content in Inconel 600 plates helps the alloy maintain its corrosion resistance. This corrosion resistance is observed even under reducing conditions, and Alloy 600 plates are able to resist corrosion from a variety of organic and inorganic compounds. At low temperatures, unlike some commonly used stainless steel plates, ASME SB 168 UNS N06600 strips do not undergo a ductile-to-brittle transition. This versatile Inconel plate is typically available in any size, or you can choose from our stock sizes, up to 3 meters in length.
