Corrosion resistance of Inconel 600 nickel-chromium alloy

Inconel Alloy 600 is a standard engineering material used in the development of applications requiring corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and high temperature resistance, so it can be used in a wide range of corrosion resistant applications. This material has a high nickel content and has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
The tantalum content of 600 alloy makes the alloy resistant to sulfides and provides oxidizing conditions or metal resistance to corrosive solutions that should be considered at high temperatures. Nickel Alloy 600 also has excellent nitrogen resistance at high temperatures. This alloy can only be hardened and strengthened by cold working.
Heat treatment of Inconel 600 does not result in increased hardening. The high nickel content of this material has very excellent resistance to gas stress corrosion cracking and performance.

Surface treatment of Inconel 600
#1-Hot rolled annealed and descaled, it has strips, and ribbons. It is used in applications where smooth finish is not required
2D-Matte finish produced by cold rolling, annealing and deoxidation.
#2b-Smooth material surface produced by different cold rolling, annealing and descaling processes. After annealing, a slight cold rolling pass is performed using polished rollers to develop a significant surface finish higher than 2D.
Cold rolled matte and bright annealed.
#2-Cold rolled #2BA-Smooth surface can be produced by different cold rolling and bright annealing processes. The smooth surface treatment effect can be achieved by passing light through highly polished rollers.
