Due to its higher aluminum content, Inconel 601 exhibits superior high-temperature oxidation resistance compared to Inconel 600, making it more suitable for applications such as furnace tubes and petrochemical processing. While Inconel 600 has a higher nickel content, making it suitable for general corrosive environments, Inconel 601, with its higher chromium content and greater mechanical strength, is the preferred material for extreme high-temperature environments.

Is Inconel 600 magnetic?

Inconel 600 is non-magnetic, possesses excellent mechanical properties, combining high strength with good machinability and ease of welding. The 600 alloy exhibits cold-forming characteristics generally similar to chromium-nickel stainless steel.
